Exporting a document never needs an account and never touches a server. The notary — which witnesses a document when you ask, and verifies a witnessed copy — meters what it does by account. Sign in with a link sent to your email, or with a passkey once you have one.

A passkey signs you in without a link: your phone or computer holds the key, the notary keeps only its public half.
Everything held against this account, and deleting it
Deletion removes the account, its sessions, its passkeys, its credit and its counts, at once and for good. Cancel a subscription first from its billing portal; a deleted account cannot be billed, but Stripe would go on holding the customer record until you tell it otherwise.
What an account is for
- Witnessing. The export dialog's "have the notary witness this document" sends the finished PDF to the notary once, when you ask; the attestation it returns is written into the file. Free accounts may witness one document a week, up to 20 MB.
- Verifying. The verify page asks the notary whether a copy is the one it witnessed. Free accounts may check a few documents a month.
- What is kept. Your address, the hash of each sign-in secret, your passkeys' public keys, and a count of bytes and documents per period. Never a document, a digest, a token or a filename.
